OUR NEWEST CLINIC

“HOSPITAL OF HEALTH, HEALING AND HOPE”
Despite many security challenges and roadblocks over  the past year, we have completed the structure of our  newest clinic building. The  “Hospital of Health, Healing and  Hope” is located in Waziri, a  rural community near Ikara  city.

We are working in partnership with the Anglican  Diocese of Ikara, under the  leadership of Bishop Yusuf  (Joseph) Janfala. Now that the structure of the  building is finished, the next  steps are to install the septic  system (“soak away”), water well  (“bore hole”), perimeter wall,  medical waste incinerator, staff  housing and interior equipment.  The hospital was made possible by a legacy donation  from Susan Knight Ober in
memory of her parents Bud and  MaryAnn McMaster. Susan is  a long-time friend and supporter  of Kateri Medical Services. She is a retired nurse who joined  us for a mission trip many  years ago and has supported us  ever since. We hope to have the physical  structures completed by mid-2025 and to begin serving  patients as soon as possible after  completion.

Other New Clinics in the Planning Stages:
We are currently making  plans for a new clinic in the Diocese of Dutse and in the Diocese of Kebbi. Both of these  dioceses are located in the far  north of Nigeria where health  indices are some of the worst in

the country. We have made a  deliberate strategy to build  clinics where the need is greatest  and the people most vulnerable. These dioceses are Muslim  majority (about 95%) and  Christian minority (about 5%)  and this reality makes the  process of obtaining government  permits to buy land and build  clinics exceedingly difficult.  This has been an extremely  frustrating process, but we  continue to press on because we  believe that God has called us to  help the “poorest of the poor”.  Jesus sent his disciples to  heal the sick as a demonstration  of God’s love. That is what we  are striving to do. Please keep  giving as generously as you can  to help us continue that
mission.
