Kateri Clinic hosted our 7th annual Cataract Surgery Outreach in September. We did this in partnership with Rimi Eye Clinic in Kaduna.  we helped 48 people with Cataract removal and 20 other people with other surgical proceedures.

Our annual Cataract Surgery Outreach is headed by Dr. Elsie Samaila. She brings a team of eye specialists to a two day intensive eye clinic.  These patients have been identified at Kateri clinic and at our annual  FaithCare mission in the summer.

Dr. Samaila and her team bring their expertise to our clinic. Pictured here are many of the people we help. One lady is exuberantly thanking God for her restored eye sight.

The Ven. Thomas Furrer, President of Kateri Medical Services, is proud to announce that Dr. Babatunde Green has been appointed as CEO of the Cardiac and Renal Center (CRC) IN Gbagada, Lagos, Nigeria.

"Dr. Green was one of our founding members and has been a steadfast supporter of our medical mission in Nigeria since 2002. Tune is a great friend and colleague and we have benefited from his wisdom and deep knowledge of the culture of the people we serve in Nigeria.  His advice has been invaluable and we are grateful that he will remain on our Board of Directors after he has relocated to Nigeria.  Our work will benefit from his 'on the ground' perspective."

CRC was built by the Lagos State Government and is being operated through a public- private partnership between Lagos State government and a multinational corporation.  The new hospital will provide state of the art medical devices and equipment and has recruited many experts in the medical field, including many from the Nigerian diaspora.  Dr Green was chosen as CEO based on his extensive knowledge of both the Western style of health care management on the one hand, and local Nigerian culture, on the other hand.

Dr. Green is a native Nigerian who has studied and worked in the US for 40 years.  He has been on our Kateri Board of Directors since our founding in 2002.

Dr. Green will begin his néw duties as CEO  of CRC after moving to Lagos in late October.
