A young woman who was pregnant was rushed into the emergency room on account of prolonged labor. On examination, we discovered she had obstructed labor complicated by placenta Abruptio (premature detachment of the placenta) with severe fetal distress and imminent uterine rupture.
The mother was in respiratory distress due to backward pressure on the diaphragm. She was rushed in for an emergency cesarean section within 30mins of the presentation. Although we had hoped to save the mother and baby, our priority was the mother, but God's willing, both were saved.
They were both discharged after 1 week on admission.
